Pico de Gallo recipe

A classic tomato based Mexican salsa.
Preparation time: 10 minutes, Cooking time: 5 minutes, Serves: 6 

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped
3/4 cup yellow or white onion, finely chopped
1-2 serrano or jalapeno chillies, seeded and minced (adjust quantity to taste)
1/2 cup fresh coriander, chopped
3 Tbsp fresh lime juice

2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp sugar

Directions

Add all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well. Cover with plastic foil and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes and tips

Serve with tortilla chips.
