Pickled cucumbers

Ingredients
- 2 5/8 oz granulated sugar 75 g granulated sugar
- 5/8 cup white wine vinegar 150 ml white wine vinegar
- 1 1/4 cup water 300 ml water
- 2 tbsp salt 30 ml salt
- 1 tbsp black peppercorns 15 ml black peppercorns
- 1 tbsp dried dill 15 ml dried dill
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds 15 ml mustard seeds
- 6 medium sized cucumbers, sliced in half lengthwise 6 medium sized cucumbers, sliced in half lengthwise
Method
Put the sugar, salt, white wine vinegar and water in a cooking pot and
bring to a simmer. Remove from heat. In a Jar, large enough to hold the
cucumbers and the juice, place the cucumbers, the peppercorns, the
mustard seeds and the dill. Pour over the hot water and vinegar
mixture. Cover tightly with the lid and let sit for at leat 1 week.
Cook's notes
You can also add green bell peppers, celery, carrots, onions or any other vegetable you would. If you like your pickles sweeter, add more sugar.
