Pickled cucumbers

An easy recipe for delicious pickled cucumbers

Ingredients

  • 2 5/8 oz granulated sugar
  • 5/8 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp dried dill
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 6 medium sized cucumbers, sliced in half lengthwise

Method

Put the sugar, salt, white wine vinegar and water in a cooking pot and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat. In a Jar, large enough to hold the cucumbers and the juice, place the cucumbers, the peppercorns, the mustard seeds and the dill. Pour over the hot water and vinegar mixture. Cover tightly with the lid and let sit for at leat 1 week.

Cook's notes

You can also add green bell peppers, celery, carrots, onions or any other vegetable you would. If you like your pickles sweeter, add more sugar.
