Tiramisu affogato (non alcoholic Tiramisu)

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp sugar 15 ml sugar
- 4 cup vanilla ice cream 960 ml vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup chilled heavy cream 240 ml chilled heavy cream
- 9 savoiardi (Italian ladyfingers), coarsely crumbled 9 savoiardi (Italian ladyfingers), coarsely crumbled
- 1 1/4 cup freshly made Espresso coffee 300 ml freshly made Espresso coffee
- Grated bittersweet chocolate for topping Grated bittersweet chocolate for topping
Method
In a bowl add the cream and sugar and beat using an electric mixer until stiff peaks are formed.
Divide the vanilla ice cream among 4 or 6 glasses and top with the crumbled ladyfingers. Pour the hot espresso on top of the ladyfingers and top with the whipped cream. Finish with grated dark chocolate on top.
Serve immediately.

Cook's notes
This recipe is non-alcoholic. If you do not mind some alcohol, add a splash of Kahlua liquer (about a tablespoon) on top of the vanilla ice cream, then continue with the rest of the ingredients.
