Pico de Gallo

A classic tomato based Mexican salsa.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb plum tomatoes (seeded and chopped)
  • 3/4 cup yellow or white onion (finely chopped)
  • 1-2 serrano or jalapeno chillies, seeded and minced (adjust quantity to taste)
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander (chopped)
  • 3 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp sugar

Method

Add all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well. Cover with plastic foil and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Cook's notes

Serve with tortilla chips.
