Homemade fajitas seasoning
Ingredients
- 4 tsp dried oregano (crushed) 20 ml dried oregano (crushed)
- 3 tbsp ground cumin 44 ml ground cumin
- 2 tsp paprika 9.9 ml paprika
- 2 tsp ground red pepper 9.9 ml ground red pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder 4.9 ml garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder 4.9 ml onion powder
- 2 tsp ground black pepper 9.9 ml ground black pepper
- 2 tsp salt 9.9 ml salt
Method
This recipe will yield about 1/2 a cup of fajitas seasoning.

The problem with all of the homemade fajita seasonings that I see online is that none seem to mention lime juice. This is an absolutely necessary element of this dish.
Lime juice? Not mixed into the dry seasoning, I hope. Of course, lime juice is great squeezed onto a Mexican dish, but there's no need to make your batch of seasoning mix all soggy before it's used.
Hi, this seems to make a lot of seasoning - how much do you use per pound of meat?<br><br>*** Admin note<br>Nicole, you can use about 2 tablespoons of the seasoning for a pound of meat; there is no rule, just make sure you use enough seasoning to completely cover the meat; if you like your food well seasoned, just use more of the seasoning.<br>
Actually, You can put lime juice on the chicken before marinating the chicken covered with seasoning
You can buy granulated lime peel that will mix perfectly well with this seasoning mix.
