Curry powder

Curry powder is a mixture of spices, widely used in the Indian cuisine. It has a yellow orange color and is an important ingredient in all curry dishes, like beef curry or chicken curry. A typical curry powder recipe includes coriander, cumin, turmeric, and fenugreek. Depending on the recipe, additional ingredients such as ginger, garlic, mustard-seed-113.aspx">mustard seed, red pepper, cinnamon, black pepper and more may also be added.

Like most dried herbs, the taste of curry powder can be intensified by frying it. A typical cooking process involves first frying the curry powder with garlic, chili, onions or any other herbs used in the recipe, and then adding the meat.

Curry powder is available worldwide in different versions, ranging from mild to hot.
