Celery seed is the seed of lovage, a wild celery which grows mainly in India. The seeds have a strong flavor and should be used in small amounts. Celery seed is used in pickling, like
anise, and to flavor
soups, meat dishes and salads.
It is available worldwide in supermarkets and like all dried herbs and spices, it should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark place for a period of up to 6 months.
