Food Storage tips

Storing fresh tomatoes Store tomatoes in a warm and dry spot, away from direct sunlight. Sunlight will soften tomatoes but not rippen them.
Freezing whole tomatoes You can freeze whole tomatoes in plastic frezer bags. When needed, place in hot water and when thawed, squeeze to extract juice or peel skin off and blend
Storing ground herbs To preserve the aroma of ground herbs keep them away from light. It is a good idea to use containers that shield the contents from light.
Storing cheese Store cheese in the refrigerator, wrapped tightly in plastic membrane. Air helps mold develop on cheese so when wrapping it in plastic, wrap it tight, making sure that there is no air kept inside.
Long term storage of lemons Squeeze lemon juice, pour into ice cube tray and freeze. When completely frozen remove from tray and store in sealed freezer bags. Lemon rind can be stored by peeling the lemons and storing the lemon rind directly in freezer bags.
Freezing raw eggs Crack the eggs open, pour the content in ice cubes and freeze. When completely frozen, store the egg cubes in a freezer bag and use when needed.
