Homemade fajitas seasoning recipe

Fajitas is probably the most popular Mexican dish. Chicken, beef or shrimp is first marinated in the fajitas seasoning, stir fried on a skillet and served on warm flour tortillas together with sauteed bell peppers, onions and typical Mexican condiments such as guacamole, and salsa. You can buy ready made fajitas seasoning but for best results you can make your own at home. It is a lot cheaper and above all, it tastes much better. You can also increase or decrease the quantity of some of the ingredients used to adjust the taste to your liking. This recipe for homemade fajitas seasoning is one of the best we have tried.

The problem with all of the homemade fajita seasonings that I see online is that none seem to mention lime juice. This is an absolutely necessary element of this dish.

Lime juice? Not mixed into the dry seasoning, I hope. Of course, lime juice is great squeezed onto a Mexican dish, but there's no need to make your batch of seasoning mix all soggy before it's used.

Hi, this seems to make a lot of seasoning - how much do you use per pound of meat?

*** Admin note
Nicole, you can use about 2 tablespoons of the seasoning for a pound of meat; there is no rule, just make sure you use enough seasoning  to completely cover the meat; if you like your food well seasoned, just use more of the seasoning.

Actually, You can put lime juice on the chicken before marinating the chicken covered with seasoning
