Onion cheese dip recipe

A simple cheese and onion dip, using cream cheese, cream and fresh onion. The dip is great with chips, jacket potatoes or potato wedges.
Preparation time: 5 minutes, Cooking time: 5 minutes, Serves: 6 

Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese
Half and half cream
Grated onion, to taste

Directions

In a bowl add the cream cheese and pour some of the half and half cream. Whip using a wire whisk, adding more cream  as needed, until you get a smooth and fluffy but not runny mixture. Add the grated onion, as much as you like and whip until the onion is well blended with the cream. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Substitute the cream cheese and half and half cream with low fat version to get a healthier, lighter result.
