Classic Margarita recipe

Margarita is a traditional Mexican cocktail based on tequila and lime juice, easy to make and goes great with Mexican food.

2 oz. (60 ml) good quality Mexican tequila
1 oz. (30 ml) triple sec
4 oz. (120 ml) fresh lime juice
4 tsp sugar
Kosher Salt
2 lime wedges
Crushed ice


Place the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, sugar and crushed ice into a shaker and shake well for about 30 seconds, until the sugar is dissolved.

Put about half a handful of salt into a plate. Prepare the glasses by rubbing the rim with the lime wedge, then 'dipping' the rim into the salt.

Divide the margarita into the glasses and optionally garnish with the lime wedges.

Notes and tips

1 oz. is equal to 2 Tbsp
