Fettucini Alfredo recipe

A popular recipe that uses fettucini and a creamy garlic sauce.
Preparation time: 5 minutes, Cooking time: 10 minutes, Serves: 4 

Ingredients

1 cup butter
3 cups heavy whipping cream
2 Tbsp garlic, minced
1 1/3 cups Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Salt and freshly gound pepper to taste
A dash cayenne pepper

1 package of fettuccine (for 4 servings)
Fresh parsley, finely chopped

Directions

Cook fettucine according to directions on the package. Drain, drizzle with olive oil and toss until well coated.

While the fettucioni is cooking, add the butter in a saucepan over low to medium heat and melt. Add the garlic, cream and cayenne pepper and simmer for 20-30 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.

Pour the sauce over the fettucini and stir well until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Sprinkle with more freshly ground black pepper and the parsley and serve.

Notes and tips

This dish is great with fresh garlic bread.
