Corn tortillas recipe

A recipe for homemade corn tortillas. A tortilla press is required.
Preparation time: 10 minutes, Cooking time: 80 minutes, Serves: 4 

Ingredients

2 cups masa harina
1 cup warm water
pinch of salt

Directions

Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and stir with a spoon until the mixture forms into a dough. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead about 3 to 4 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and not sticky. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rest at room temperature for about an hour.

Shape the dough into a roll and cut it into 12 equal size pieces. Take one piece at a time and roll it with your hands to form a ball. When all the dough is shaped into balls, use a tortilla press to create the tortillas.

Notes and tips

Keep the dough covered at all times with a cloth, while you work.
