El Charro salsa de chile verde (El charro basic green chile sauce) recipe Share this recipe on FacebookA simple, basic green chile sauce that uses roasted green chiles, garlic and onion. This sauce is first cooked, then processed in the blender. The result is a smooth, creamy sauce that is great with enchiladas.
Preparation time: 10 minutes, Cooking time: 20 minutes, Serves: 4 - 6
Ingredients 2 Tbsp vegetable oil 1/2 white onion, chopped 2 Tbsp flour 2 cups roasted, peeled and chopped green chiles 4 garlic cloves, minced 2 cups chicken stock 3/4 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
Directions In a medium saucepan or skillet over medium high heat add the vegetable oil and onion and saute until soft translucent.
Add the flour and mix until well combined. Stir in the roasted green chiles, minced garlic, chicken stock and
salt. Lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
