Grapefruit margarita recipe

A variation of the famous Mexican cocktail, this grapefruit flavored drink is equally refreshing and great in taste as the original one.

1 lime wedge
1 tsp coarse salt
7 oz. ruby red grapefruit juice, with pulp (about 1 1/2 medium fresh grapefruits)
1/2 oz. lime juice
2 1/2 oz. good quality tequila
1 oz. triple sec
2 slices grapefruit


Prepare the tequila glasses by running the lime wedge round the rims, then dipping them into the coarse salt. Set aside.

In a cocktail shaker add the grapefruit juice, lime juice, tequila and triple sec. Add ice and shake well until chilled. Strain into the margarita glasses, garnish with the grapefruit slices and serve immediately.
