Lawrys Beef and Bean Tacos recipe

Easy, delicious beef and bean tacos using Lawry's special seasoning mix. Serve them in tacos (you can optionally use flour tortillas) with your favorite toppings.
Preparation time: 15 minutes, Cooking time: 15 minutes, Serves: 4 

Ingredients

1 lb (500 g) ground beef
1 garlic clove, minced
16 oz. (2 cups) refried beans
4 - 5 Tbsp Lawry's fajita seasoning mix (see recipe below)
1/4 cup water

To serve
12 - 16 Taco shells
1 - 2 cups Shredded Jack, cheddar or mixed cheese
1/2 lettuce, shredded
1 large tomato, chopped
1 cup sour cream
1 cup Salsa

Directions

Add the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat, and brown the ground beef together with the garlic for about 15 minutes.

Drain, add the seasoning and water, stir well and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes.

Add the refried beans and stir well to heat through.

Serve with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, salsa and cheese (use whatever you like) in warm taco shells.

Notes and tips

Layry's seasoning mix

Ingredients

3 Tbsp cornstarch
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp paprika
1 Tbsp sugar
3 tsp chicken bouillon, granulated
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp cumin

Method

Combine all ingredients well. Put in an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunshine.
